Sorcerers carry a magical birthright conferred upon them by an exotic bloodline, some otherworldly influence, or exposure to unknown cosmic forces. Unlike wizards who must study their craft, sorcerers have innate magic that manifests in unexpected ways.
Raw magic courses through your body, manifesting in various ways. You start with knowledge of four cantrips and two 1st-level spells, gradually learning more as you gain experience. Unlike other spellcasters, sorcerers don't prepare spells but instead know a fixed number that they can cast at will using their spell slots.
Your innate power also manifests as Sorcery Points, which you can use to create additional spell slots or modify your spells through Metamagic options.
Different sorcerers claim different origins for their innate magic. Common origins include Draconic Bloodline, Wild Magic, Divine Soul, Shadow Magic, and Storm Sorcery. Each origin grants unique abilities that complement your spellcasting powers.
Sorcerers excel at flashy, powerful magic. Signature sorcerer spells include Fireball, Chaos Bolt, and Haste.
Charisma is your spellcasting ability for your sorcerer spells.
Starting at 3rd level, you can twist your spells to suit your needs using Metamagic options.
